{Little People}

I’d forgotten how ‘busy’ little people can be.

I’d also forgotten how much I love this age.

I jumped at the chance to spend the day with Ned & Lucy and to have some one-on-one time with them.  Lucy wasn’t too sure – you see, she’s never really spoken to me….it’s only ever been a shy nod or shake of her head.  So she was my little ‘challenge’ .  The first half hour….not a word……but then….BAM….and I soon found out that this child has a gorgeous (but sometimes stubborn) personality.  She didn’t shut up……..wow,  little people talk alot 🙂

We spent our day picking strawberries, painting, singing (Ned tells me his favourite song is “Pete Murray’), looking for fairies, climbing trees and counting all the way up to 116!!!! – go Ned 🙂

Love you guys to bits…..next time we’re doing the big sleepover x

‘Nooooooo…I want THAT one..

The kids spotted the ice cream freezer……how could I say ‘no’ to them….I figured a Cornetto was a ‘safe’ choice…..”NUTS”…..i forgot they are covered in nuts….. Well to be honest I wouldn’t have paid any notice to it until Ned brought it to my attention.  So my mind is thinking fast….’are these kids allergic to nuts? surely I’d know…right?’

I did the right thing 🙂 and ate the tops of both their Cornettos……Ned got almost to the end of his cone and ‘found’ more nuts…..arrrgh….poor Lucy was mid bite when I grabbed her ice cream and threw it in the bin.   OK, all sorted…..crisis over – until…..Ned tells me that he’s ‘feeling itchy’….(yikes). I’ve had these kids in my care for less than an hour and my next stop could be the hospital. I tell Ned that he’s not itchy and to drink some water and eat another strawberry….that’ll fix it ..right?

For the record…..there were no allergic reactions..and no hospital visits – phew.

So it was back to my house to ‘entertain’ these two. Paints, canvases and chalk drawing on the driveway….

“Whaaat? what do you mean you’ve had enough of painting already?????

(Think Nic, think….what to do  next with these busy people?)

Time for gumboots, puddles and searching for fairies

I had so much fun with you guys….can’t wait for our sleepover.  Next time I promise to feed you lunch before 2pm (oops).
